pastor mitch's
meanderings
This week, our Conference of the Global Methodist Church is having its Annual Conference meeting. I don’t have to travel very far because it’s being held at Indiana Wesleyan! There are delegates from the four states that make up our Conference (Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin). There is an expectation at this conference that God is going to do a special thing within the GMC. There is no tension between conservative and progressive sides. There is no political jockeying. It is quite refreshing! Our first day was yesterday, and it was spent in worship sessions and learning sessions – not a lick of business was done! Rev. Carolyn Moore gave a powerful message to the assembled members that showed how the Israelites, before rebuilding the Temple, built the altar upon what would become the foundation of the new Temple. The altar came first! It reminded me of our sermon series last year (Altar’d) and prompted us to make sure our foundation was firmly grounded in Jesus Christ and his sacrifice before any “church business” is ever attempted! Please pray for the rest of the Conference – we’ll have to do a little business today and tomorrow, but there will still be much more worship and learning, capped off with our Ordination service Friday afternoon. Our own Pastor Mike is playing with the praise team for our worship services, and Pastor Milissa is in charge of the children’s program for kindergarten age and below. Don't forget to start reading or listening to the Wake Up Call devotional - subscribe below. Acts Part 2 has started and our sermon series is running a week behind the devotionals. |
Be Blessed, Pastor Mitch |

Faith Prayer Warriors
One of the effects of sin in our lives is to keep us from feeling like praying. But perfect moral behavior is not a condition for prayer. Don’t let guilt feelings over sin keep you from your only means of restoration. No matter how long you have been away from God, he is ready to hear from you and restore you to a right relationship. Every situation can be salvaged if you are willing to turn again to Him.
Please join us on Tuesday mornings at 10 am in Room 1 for prayer.
If you can't join us, but have a prayer concern, contact Donna Barton (765-618-9240, dbarton5270@yahoo.com) or Karen Neumann (630-280-9124, kneumann9124@gmail.com).

At Josiah White's Residential, students have the opportunity to participate in a project to give back to our community, but they need your help!
The Finnley Project, a group dedicated to comforting families grieving and enduring pregnancy and infant loss, came to campus and taught some of our students and staff how to make infant hats and cocoons using yarn and looms.
We want to keep this opportunity going for our residential students, but we are in great need of yarn! If you are willing to donate, we need skeins of Bernat brand Baby Blanket yarn only. All yarn donations can be dropped off at the front desk at the Hodson Center on Josiah White's campus. If you would like to donate financially toward the purchase of yarn, You may put the money in an envelope and bring to the office and Kateri will take the money and or yarn up to the campus. This is an ongoing event.
